Listening To Music

It may seem a radical notion, but Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, Georgia is a live music venue that actually encourages audiences to listen to music instead of talking over it. More radical yet, they invite smokers to take their smoking materials outside instead of lighting up inside and doing untold damage to valuable electronics, musical instruments, and highly sensitive and susceptible guitar strings.  By banishing bad manners and bad habits to the outer darkness, what is left are the simple pleasures of musical performance and experience:

Every community needs a place like Eddie’s!  Perhaps we can start a chain of like-minded venue owners and operators who, by subscribing to a few simple principles, can promise a live music experience that is humane (and sustainable) for artists and audiences alike.

Bravo!
